Breaking news: Erasmus Plus 2024 calls launched today!

The Commission has launched today the 2024 call for proposals under Erasmus+, the EU's program supporting education, training, youth, and sport in Europe, with a substantial budget of €4.3 billion for the upcoming year. The focus remains on facilitating transnational experiences for school pupils, higher education and vocational students, adult learners, educators, and participants in non-formal learning programs.

To counter the impact of inflation on learning abroad, Erasmus+ is increasing mobility grant levels, adjusting individual support amounts by 5.9% for most mobility actions in the 2024 call. This builds upon a previous 12.27% adjustment in 2023. Additionally, the program introduces stronger incentives for sustainable travel, making it the default option from 2024 onwards. Participants from remote areas or with inadequate rail networks will receive appropriate compensation for choosing sustainable modes of travel, with intra-European higher education mobility also receiving travel contributions for the first time.

Erasmus+ will foster cooperation to address four key priorities: inclusion, active citizenship, democratic participation, and green and digital transitions. Initiatives range from local projects to transnational endeavors like European Universities, Centres for Vocational Excellence, and Erasmus+ Teacher Academies, all pivotal in driving the green and digital transitions in education.

The program remains committed to supporting Ukraine through projects promoting learning mobility, empowering individuals with new skills, combating disinformation, and facilitating the integration of refugees into new educational systems. Furthermore, Erasmus+ continues to play a vital role in upholding common EU values, ensuring that all beneficiaries and activities align with and promote human dignity, rights, freedom, democracy, equality, and the rule of law.
