CERV Calls on Gender Equality and violence against children or gender-based out this week.

The European Union's commitment to fostering equality, protecting rights, and promoting citizenship is exemplified through the EU Citizenship, Equality, Rights, and Values (CERV) program. As the programme continues to evolve, two significant calls for proposals under CERV are set to open this week, each addressing critical topics: Gender equality and gender-based violence and violence against children.

2. Targeted Actions for the Protection of and Support for Victims and Survivors:

3. Targeted Actions for the Prevention of Gender-based Violence:

  • Involves the development of gender-sensitive tools for preventing domestic violence, measures for the prevention of violence in intimate relationships, and prevention of gender-based cyber violence.

4. Targeted Actions Making Integrated Child Protection Systems Work:

  • Aims to contribute to systemic changes in preventing, protecting, and supporting children facing violence through integrated child protection systems.

Call 2: Promoting Gender Equality (CERV-2024-GE)

Opening Date: 21 December 2023

Deadline: 29 February 2024, 17:00:00 Brussels time

Scope and Priorities:

This call seeks to support comprehensive policies promoting women's full enjoyment of rights, gender equality, work-life balance, equal pay, empowerment, and gender mainstreaming. The two main priorities are:

1. Tackling the Root Causes of the Gender Care Gap:

  • Aims to promote family-friendly practices, prevent discrimination during and after pregnancy, raise awareness of the value of care work, and challenge gender stereotypes.

2. Supporting the Implementation of the Pay Transparency Directive:

  • Focuses on assisting Member States in developing gender-sensitive job evaluation and classification systems, in line with the Pay Transparency Directive, to address the root causes of the gender pay gap.

These calls for proposals highlight the EU's dedication to addressing pressing societal challenges and advancing values of equality, rights, and citizenship. The CERV program, through these initiatives, endeavors to create a more inclusive and equitable European society, fostering positive changes in the realms of gender-based violence prevention, child protection, and gender equality promotion.
