In our effort to highlight initiatives that promote education, social inclusion, and health, SOLVERE is proud to share three remarkable calls for projects dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities in Luxembourg, Ireland and Montenegro. Each call for proposals focuses on enhancing the lives of those with disabilities through various means, including education, accessibility, and community integration. Here, we offer a brief overview of these initiatives, aiming to inspire action and participation from our readers.

Luxembourg: Advancing Diversity and Inclusion

The U.S. Embassy in Luxembourg is inviting proposals to strengthen bilateral ties between the United States and Luxembourg, with a special focus on advancing diversity and inclusion. Key areas include combating systemic racism and discrimination, promoting diversity in public and private sectors, and bolstering access to higher education and careers in STEAM, with an emphasis on inclusion for marginalized groups. Funding ranges from $3,000 to $15,000, targeting programs that can be completed within twelve months. More details can be found here.

Ireland: Local Enhancement Programme 2024

The Department of Rural and Community Development in Ireland has launched the Local Enhancement Programme 2024. This initiative supports groups, especially in disadvantaged areas, by funding repairs, improvements, and the purchase of essential equipment for community facilities. Special attention is given to enhancing access for persons with disabilities and improving energy efficiency. The program is designed to meet local priorities and is administered by Local Community Development Committees (LCDCs). A total of €195,412.48 in capital funding has been allocated, with a portion ring-fenced for Women’s Groups. Further information is available here.

Montenegro: Supporting Independent Living for Individuals with Disabilities

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Montenegro is calling on civil society organizations to submit proposals aimed at supporting the independent living of individuals with disabilities. The call focuses on piloting a psychological counselling service across three municipalities to facilitate long-term independent living and community integration. Proposals should emphasize inclusion, gender equality, and the principle of leaving no one behind. Activities may include individual or group counselling sessions, designed to encourage personal progress and community involvement. Detailed information on this call can be found here.
